Andrews Water Heaters scores John Lewis hat trick

Andrews Water Heaters, DHW
Water-heaters hat trick — the Cardiff store has become the third John Lewis department store to install water heaters for Andrews Water Heaters to provide domestic hot water.

Andrews Water Heaters continues to meet the requirements for hot water in John Lewis department stores with the provision of equipment for the new store in Cardiff. Two gas-fired condensing water heaters have been installed in this store. Similar models have been used in John Lewis shops in the Trafford Centre in Manchester, Aberdeen and Liverpool.

The 4-storey 26 000 m2 Cardiff branch is John Lewis’s biggest store outside of London and the largest department store in Wales.

The Andrews water heaters serve washrooms, baby-changing facilities, the Espresso coffee bar, Place to Eat public restaurant and the staff restaurant, which provides a full meal service for about 800 staff.

The two SUPAflo water heaters were specified by the original consulting engineer, which designed the system based on the client’s satisfaction with units already in service at other locations. The project was subsequently taken over by Lateral Technologies Solutions.

Each unit has an output of 139 kW with a recovery rate of 2382 l/h through a temperature rise of 50 K. They were supplied for incorporating into a packaged plantroom on the roof of the store.
