Distributor enjoys solar PV without capital cost

Lark Energy and HPC Healthline have collaborated on one of the largest rooftop solar PV installation in the East Midlands — which comprises 810 panels on the roof of HPC’s national distribution centre in Bourne to generate 153 MWh electricity a year. All the electricity from the 183 kW installation will be used by HPC.

The project was funded by Low Carbon Investors and the Downing Low Carbon Enterprise Investment Scheme Fund.

In return for making its roof available for the installation, HPC Healthline wil receive an index-linked roof rental for the next 25 years, so there was no upfront cost to HPC, and be able to use all the energy generated at a guaranteed discount to its standard energy costs.
