Grundfos answers call from ‘DIY SOS’

Grundfos Pumps
Trial by television — the 9-day transformation of the Norris Green Youth Centre in Liverpool includes circulating pumps donated by Grundfos.

The rapid transformation in just nine days of the Norris Green Youth Centre in Liverpool for the BBC television programme ‘DIY SOS’ in aid of Children in Need included pumps donated by Grundfos. The 60-year-old building is in one of the poorest areas of Liverpool and was in a very poor state of repair when presenter Nick Knowles and the team arrived to transform the premises into a centre that the local community could take pride in.

Grundfos donated circulating pumps to British Gas Commercial, which undertook this aspect of the work. They were supplied via BSS Liverpool.

An army of 220 volunteer tradesmen from the local area joined the BBC team to complete the job, which required every aspect of the site, inside and out, to be completely reconfigured — including the central-heating system.
