Descaling pumps for larger equipment and systems

Kamco has developed a range of larger tank-mounted pumps for descaling calorifiers, boilers, cooling circuits and heating systems. Descaling involves the use of powerful chemicals, and Scalebreaker pumps increase safety during the process by safely enclosing chemicals within the tank, hoses and equipment being descaled — minimising the exposure of operators to fumes, splashes and risks.

Units range in size from the 100 l C130 up to the C230 with a 200 l tank and a more powerful motor to give a higher circulation rate and faster descaling. The C230 weighs only 20 kg.

The C230 can clean calorifiers to remove the scale and debris that reduces efficiency and screen legionella and other bacteria from the effect of biocide treatments. Other applications include acid washing packaged boilers and descaling larger plate and tube heat exchangers without the need for dismantling.

Units have a flow-reversal device for faster descaling. Hoses have BSP threaded couplings for easy connection to the plant being cleaned. All pumps can also handle biocides and hypochlorite solutions.
