LG develops AutoCAD add-on

LG Electronics

LG Electronics’ air-conditioning and energy-solutions division has developed a software tool for consultants. LatsCAD is an add-on to CAD packages for designing air-conditioning systems that can be integrated into AutoCAD 2010 Professional to reduce design time by up to 60%. The application can be used in pre-conception and for completed designs.

LatsCAD is a valuable resource for designers working with LG’s Multi V III VRF range, which offers key benefits such a higher energy efficiency, larger capacity and longer piping lengths. The application shows every pipe and exactly where it could be located. It complies with LG installation rules such as automatically identifying the length of pipe runs allowed between units and preventing errors occurring.

Steve Marshall, LG applications engineer, explains, ‘The beauty of the LatsCAD system lies in its simplicity. No longer will designers need to keep referring back to product literature and laboriously input product details. Anyone with AutoCAD experience will easily find their way around the new and intuitive LatsCAD application, allowing designers to simply “drag and drop” LG air-conditioning units into a system design.’
