‘Rules of thumb’ updated

BSRIA has published the fifth edition of its ‘Rules of thumb’, which now comes in a user-friendly spiral-bound format. New additions include greatly increased guidance about space and weight allowances. There are also benchmarks for CO2 emissions.

Other new features include clearer guidance about costs — expanded to include energy consumption, maintenance, operation and life-cycle cost information.

There is also guidance about compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations, renewable technologies and air permeability of buildings.
