Slim fan-coil units offer wide range of features

Ability Projects, air conditioning, fan coil unit, FCU

The latest fan-coil unit from Ability Projects is only 155 mm deep, which is thought to be the slimmest on the UK market. Evolution EVO155 is available as 2-pipe and 4-pipe units. Eight sizes cover cooling capacities up to 5.2 kW and heating up to 8 kW under normal selection conditions.

These units incorporate slimline, single-inlet, forward-curved centrifugal fan with EC motor sets. Specific fan powers are generally around 0.2 W/l/s.

Ability’s Matrix features can be incorporated, including variable-speed fans, setback for unoccupied rooms, and standby power savings. They can also include the Matrix 3 dirty-filter alert to advise of the need for filter cleaning or replacement.

EVO155 fan-coil units are also designed to accommodate optional PICC (pressure-independent characterised control) valve and Matrix Delta Controller. This controller can be expanded into a self-contained packaged mini-BMS with a full-colour 7 in touchscreen display that doubles as the user interface and mini head end to show the FCUs, setting options and operational status.
