Contracts totalling £17 million for Ameon include M&E work for the First Street regeneration project in Manchester.

Ameon has won a series of new building-services installation contracts worth in excess of £17 million. Almost £10 million-worth is accounted for by significant regeneration projects in Manchester and Blackpool

The Manchester project is one of the city’s largest-ever development projects — the First Street regeneration for Ask Developments. Ameon will install all building services on two elements, including the 4-star 208-bedroom Innside hotel brand for Melia International Hotels and an adjacent 700-space multi-storey car park. Another Manchester project is for M&E services on the IVG building on Fountain Street in a contract worth £850 000.

Ameon’s utilities division will be engaged in providing an electricity supply for the multi-storey car park in a contract package worth £5.5 million.

Contracts worth £4.5 million in Blackpool include several office complexes for Eric Wright Construction and a multi-storey car park for Tolent Construction. Both projects are part of the Talbot Gateway regeneration projects.

Managing director Robin Lawson comments, ‘We are delighted to be winning business as the economy starts to show the first signs of improvement after what has been a challenging few years for all involved in the construction sector. We’re not complacent by any means, but there are signs that the market is beginning to move in a positive direction, which augurs well for economic growth going forward.’
