Cast-iron boilers demonstrate their capabilities in refurbishment
The progress in the design of cast-iron boilers was thrown into sharp relief when Hamworthy Heating donated new boilers to replace 20-year-old Hamworthy atmospheric boilers in a hospice. Forest Holme Hospice in Poole cares for patients with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. The new boilers were installed as part of the hospice’s refurbishment.
Two Purewell VariHeat cast-iron high-efficiency 65 kW boilers and Hamworthy Dorchester water heaters provide heating and hot water for the hospice.
The new boilers exceed the minimum seasonal-efficient requirements of Part L and have superior control capability to accurately match the heading load of the hospice.
Purewell VariHeat boilers are available in five condensing models and four high-efficiency non-condensing models. As cast-iron boilers, they are commonly used in refurbishment projects as the can be easily integrated into existing systems.
