Pipe insulation

Kingspan Taren, pipe insulation

Kingspan Tarec has introduced slotted-board technology to complement its award-winning continuous pipeline manufacturing process, enabling the company to offer fully bore-coated products for pipes from 15 to 610 mm diameter. An architectural ‘theatre black’ facing option is also offered for exposed-to-view applications.

Kooltherm FM pipe insulation has a thermal conductivity as low as 0.025 W/mK. The passivated bore liner helps to reduce the risk posed by surface moisture if a joint or fitting fails.

The slotted-board process minimises waste from offcuts, which can account for up to 40% of the insulation material in traditional cut-from-block production.

The ‘theatre black’ facing has a high emissivity, which can reduce the thickness required in cold and chilled applications, as well as labour cost when compared to a painted finish.
