Kingspan pipe insulation becomes a work of art

Kingspan, Kooltherm, pipe insulation

Kingspan’s Kooltherm FM pipe insulation has been installed in an exposed-to-view application at the Art House of Somerset College in Taunton. To help revitalise the 1970s structure, BAM Construction oversaw a comprehensive refurbishment and extension programme, increasing natural light in the building.

Building services have been left exposed in the interior spaces, reflecting the building’s industrial design and enabling ceiling heights to be raised in existing rooms.

To complement the internal pallet of whites and blacks, M&E contractor EIC specified Kooltherm FM pipe insulation with a matt theatre-black aluminium-foil facing applied at the factory. It was installed on all service pipework in the building by RDA Insulation.
