McQuayService offers free maintenance of chillers for a year

McQuayService is offering customers a year’s free maintenance on all scroll and screw chillers as part of its new customer-care package. Three visits are made a year, and all maintenance is carried out by factory-trained service engineers.

Barry Coe, national service manager, explains, ‘Regular maintenance is vital for today’s high efficiency chillers. Major components, such as compressors, electrical and controls components, condensers, evaporators and also the chiller’s operating characteristics all need to be inspected on a regular basis. ‘Identifying problems early avoids equipment damage and can reduce downtime by up to 40%. Research has shown that regular maintenance can reduce unexpected breakdowns by up to 75% and energy consumption by up to 30%. Chillers can consume a substantial amount of energy, so these reductions in energy can be significant.

“Compared to a major chiller failure, a sound predictive and preventative maintenance package will save money over the life of the chiller and ensure longer chiller life.’
