BBES to install M&E services for new leisure centre in Northumberland

Balfour Beatty Engineering Services is to supply £2.7 million-worth of M&E services to a new leisure centre in Ashington, Northumberland. The project consists of two pools, sauna and spa treatment areas, a gym, sports hall, café and an ultra-modern library with super-fast Internet access.

A feature of the M&E installation is a 70 kW(E) CHP unit.

Working with main and professional services contractors, BBES is using its BIM service for client liaison, planning the delivery and installation of large equipment and clash detection .

The new facility is expected to be open to the public in September 2015.
