Interserve completes major facilities for West Yorkshire Police

Interserve, contractor

Interserve has completed building work on the last of three major developments for West Yorkshire to provide a modern working environment for over a thousand police officers and civilian staff. The three facilities cost a total of £114 million to develop and were funded through the Government’s private-finance initiative (PFI) scheme.

The projects includes a new district headquarters for the Wakefield Division in Normanton (pictured), a specialist training facility in Wakefield and a new division headquarters in south Leeds. All have been delivered to a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating.

Police & Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson said, ‘These bespoke, modern and efficient facilities will help to lower our overall costs by replacing out-of-date buildings which were simply no longer fit for purpose.’
