Giacomini heats up Magna Carta’s 800th anniversary year

Giacomini, space heating, underfloor heating

An underground vault at Lincoln Castle being built to house one of the four remaining original copies of the Magna Carta has its underfloor heating designed and manufactured by Giacomini. The company has installed a solid-floor clip-rail system in the sub-basement, the basements and the ground-floor areas. 2015 marks 800 years since the Magna Carta was signed.

Giacomini has a number of iconic underfloor-heating systems to its name. They include The Shard in London, the visitor centre of Hadrian’s Wall and the Brent Civic Centre in north west London.

Matthew Lowe, managing director of Giacomini UK, said, ‘The Magna Carta is such a treasured piece of history, it’s vital that it is not only preserved but also that it is showcased in the best environment possible.

‘This is a fantastic project to be involved in. By selecting Giacomini underfloor heating, Lincoln Castle will be improving its efficiency levels while also enhancing the comfort and experience of visitors to the Magna Carta celebrations.’
