Elco supplies HIUs for regeneration project

Space heating, Elco, HIU, heat interface unit

Elco UK has supplied 350 Nexus Futura Bitherm heat-interface units for the Stoke Quay residential development in Ipswich. The heating installation also includes three R3603 floor-standing condensing boilers and a Gemini indirect cylinder.

This major redevelopment project in the historic docklands area of Ipswich has created over 350 new homes. The mixed-tenure scheme included five blocks of apartments with one and two bedrooms, and 25 4-bedroom town houses.

The Elco products were specified by Brighton-based M&E consultant PJR services. The Nexus heat-interface units were specially designed for this project, with top-exit pipework to accommodate the design conditions. They provide up to 19 kW of heating and up to 70 kW to domestic hot water.
