Super school uses Rehau underfloor heating

Rehau, underfloor heating, space heating

Rehau underfloor heating has been installed in the largest school ever built by Ceredigion Council in South Wales. The energy-efficient £30 million Llandysul School has over 11 000 m2 of Rehau pipework. 9200 m2 was fitted using the company’s Tacker sheet system and 2000 m2 using its diffusion plate system over a timber suspended floor. It was installed by specialist sub-contractor Amroc Heating Services.

The Tacker sheet system was used for all main parts of the building, with diffusion plates used for the sprung floor in the sports hall (pictured) and dance studio.

The underfloor heating is integrated into the building-management system via its built-in Modbus capability.

The school covers the age range three to 19 and has over a thousand pupils. Consultant was AECOM, with Hurleys as M&E contractor.
