MCS approval for LG high-temperature heat pumps

LG, heat pump, MCS, microgeneration certification scheme

LG has received MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) approval for its Therma V high-temperature heat pump. This certification qualifies these heat pumps, which can deliver hot water at up to 80°C, for the Renewable Heat Incentive. An indoor unit is pictured.

With cascade dual-refrigerant cycles using R410A and R134a, hot water at up to 80°C can be delivered. A single-refrigerant system can deliver hot water at up to 65°C.

Kamlesh Vadukul, heating sales manager, says, ‘These air-source heat pumps are not hugely more expensive than the low-temperature units and are the lowest-priced high-temperature units available in the marketplace.’
