Briggs & Forrester develops residential business

Briggs & Forrester MEP is planning to expand its residential business from £60 million a year towards £100 million a year by 2020. The group’s overall turnover is £180 million, and the residential business has grown from £40 million to £60 million over the last three years. To better reflect the company’s operations and provide greater sector differentiation for clients, the business has been renamed from Briggs & Forrester MEP to Briggs & Forrester Living.

The future objective is to continue to operate within its current specialist sectors of residential, hotels and student accommodation and to maintain its presence in London. To achieve this target, the company is expanding its geographical operating areas to include the north and the Midlands. A solid start has been made with £20 million of work for two private rental schemes in Manchester and Leeds.

Projects awarded or completed during the last three years include One Blackfriars, Providence Tower and the Blackdale (pictured) 1000-bed student-accommodation facility for the University of East Anglia at Norwich.

Duncan Benedetti, managing director of Briggs & Forrester Living, said, ‘These changes are part of an exciting long-term plan to develop our industry presence, continue to provide our sector specialism, delivering our profitable growth and providing more opportunity to our staff and supply chain as we focus on expansion for our business.’
