Hygienic and energy-efficient humidification

Hygromatik, humidification, relative humidity

HygroMatik’s HPS and LPS adiabatic high- and low-pressure nozzle systems for air-conditioning and ventilation units are designed to provide the highest levels of hygiene. Using HPS or LPS systems in conjunction with reverse osmosis will deliver demineralised water, ensuring that only the cleanest air is delivered. These combined systems offer hygienic optimum humidification and close control with an accuracy of ±1% RH.

Adiabatic systems have a significant effect on energy consumption by taking heat from the surrounding air to create the humidifying mist. Both systems offer a free-cooling effect of up to 33%, reducing the cooling load.

The HPS high-pressure nozzle offers up to 95% efficiency with a total humidification capacity of 46 to 250 l/h. The LPS option offers up to 80% efficiency with a total humidification capacity of 46 to 130 l/h.

The LPS’s water-lubricated pump guarantees about 25 000 h of operation without maintenance, about five years of running time.

More refrigerant bans possible, says government

The government could tighten up the rules that restrict the use of global warming refrigerant gases including speeding up phase-out programmes and introducing new bans, according to a spokesman from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

Baxi research suggests schools strongly support heat decarbonisation

A survey conducted by Baxi of 200 state school estates managers, consultant engineers and M&E contractors has found that while enthusiasm for Net Zero and support for low carbon heating systems in schools is thriving, persistent barriers remain.
