Grundfos variable-speed pumps set the pace in refurbishments

As part of the programme of Hounslow Home to achieve the Government’s ‘decent homes’ standard for the London Borough of Hounslow’s 16 500 housing stock, Grundfos variable-speed pumps using differential-pressure control have been installed as part of two plantroom refurbishments. These plant rooms supply heating and hot water to council accommodation of the Maitland and Oriel Estates. Both projects use pumps from the NBE range of electronically controlled single-stage pumps with 18.5 kW motors. Using differential-pressure control enables the operation of the pumps to exactly match the load needed for heating and hot water in the winter and hot water only in the summer.
