Combining roof waterproofing with solar photo-voltaics

This waterproof roofing membrane from ICB integrates solar photo-voltaic cells into one homogeneous product.
ICB’s Evalon-Solar PV systems is a single-ply membrane with PV cells encapsulated in one homogeneous product. It is said to have an output 20% greater than common crystalline panels. This product can work with diffuse sunlight. The PV cells used in this product consist of layers of amorphous silicon deposited on a stainless-steel substrate and pick-up grid which are combined into modules and integrated with the Evalon single-ply roofing membrane. It is described as ‘electricity on a roll’. Because the PV panels are part of the waterproof membrane, there is no need to compromise waterproofing integrity to connect cables. As a proven waterproofing solution, it is a building-integrated product.
