JS Air Curtains keeps out the wind from headquarters of wind-turbine maker

Helping to prevent fierce winds penetrating this revolving door at Vesta Blades on the Isle of Wight is a JS RotoWind air curtain.

JS Air Curtains has designed, supplied and installed a stainless-steel RotoWind air curtain at the headquarters of wind-turbine manufacturer Vestas Blades on the Isle of Wight. This air curtain is above the inside of the revolving entrance door that prevents the fierce wind that blows down the River Medina entering the reception area. While revolving doors are designed to keep out most of the elements, they can act as slow-moving fans, dragging in cold air with every turn. The RotoWind air curtain creates a tight seal of air across the inside of the door to prevent cold air entering. The brushed stainless-steel semi-circular unit was designed specifically for the door at Vesta Blades. It is 1.5 m long and incorporates a 12 kW electric heating element. The main mechanism of the air curtain is mounted above the door and blows warm air down across the inner opening.
