Buderus helps hotel reduce costs
On the recommendation of an energy survey, a hotel in Wales has reduced the running costs of heating and hot water by installing a new Buderus boiler.
Following an energy survey by the Government agency Resolve, a hotel near Bridgend has replaced two outdated heating and hot-water boilers with a modern Buderus system which is expected to pay for itself within two years. The agency recommended a complete new solution to meet the total needs of the 28-bedroom Coed-Y-Mwstwr Hotel in Coychurch. The new system has a GE315 cast-iron boiler with an output of 140 kW and a 4211 modular controls package. It meets the entire heating and hot-water needs of the hotel, whereas the previous system met only part of the need. The new system has dramatically reduced fuel costs, the boilerhouse is considerably cleaner, and the various extensions over the years are now fully integrated into a single heating system. Its efficiency enabled contractor L. D. Powles and the hotel to apply for a interest-free loan from the Carbon Trust.
