Baxi Commercial companies score at Shrewsbury Town FC

Baxi Commercial
Space-heating and domestic hot water for the new Prostar stadium of Shrewsbury Town Football Club are provided by equipment from Potterton Commercial and Andrews Water Heaters, both part of Baxi Commercial Division.

Andrews Water Heaters and Potterton Commercial have contributed to the success of Shrewsbury Town Football Club’s new 9875-seat Prostar stadium by meeting the hot-water and heating requirements.

The equipment installed in a plant room in the west stand comprises two Andrews gas-fired storage water heaters and two Potterton Eurocondense boilers. This stand houses the changing rooms and banqueting facilities.

The water heaters are twinned into a flue header that vents to atmosphere at roof level. They are low-profile models with a small footprint. They serve changing rooms, toilets, bar, restaurant, kitchens and corporate facilities. The models installed have a storage capacity of 368 l and a recovery rate of 1200 l/h through 44 K.

The Potterton boilers are also extremely compact, so they fit through a standard 600 mm doorway. The gas-fired boilers have an output of 160 kW and meet the space-heating requirement for the changing rooms, offices, toilets, bar, kitchen and restaurant. Among their features are built-in weather compensation, summer/winter changeover and time-control facilities. In this installation, the ISR control system is integrated with the building-management system.

Coalway Building Services was the mechanical-services contractor for the project.
