Merlin adds thermal imaging to electrical testing services

Merlin Power Management
Thermal imaging is a new predictive-maintenance service from Merlin Power Management.

Merlin Power Management has added thermal imaging (thermography) to its range of diagnostic tools for predictive maintenance. This technique quickly detects temperature differences that are often invisible to the naked eye, enabling corrective action to be taken before costly system failures occur.

A single survey could identify faulty cabling, a defective motor bearing, poor insulation, a defective circuit breaker etc.

Thermal-imaging inspections can be carried out while electrical systems are under load — avoiding the disruption of switching off circuits.

Following a survey, Merlin will issue a comprehensive report highlighting potential issues and, as a reference for all future surveys, identify any potential trend or issue.
