EnTech puts intelligence into MediaCityUK

KNX technology is being used in the control system for MediaCityUK at Salford Quays by Entech.

EnTech, which specialises in intelligent building controls, has won a significant contract on phase one of the MediaCityUK development at Salford Quays, Manchester.

Awarded by M&E contractor NG Bailey, the contract involves EnTech designing and commissioning an intelligent building-control solution based on the KNX open protocol.

In effect, KNX becomes the deliverer of the ‘vital life signs’ within the day-to-day life of a building, regulating and maintaining these elements to the occupants’ specific desired design and usage criteria to maximise utility and minimise energy usage and waste.

Alan Vickery, managing director of EnTech, says, ‘Our business has grown significantly over the last 18 months, and this is largely in response to the market’s increasing awareness of the potential of KNX technology. The MediaCityUK project is no exception.’
