Roof hatches help meet Part L

Bilco

Bilco has improved its entire range of roof hatches to reduce air leakage and thermal insulation to help meet Part L of the Building Regulations. All Bilco hatches are now fitted with closed-cell EPDM sponge gaskets to give a better seal of the cover to the curb.

Independent tests have shown that the maximum leakage at pressures up to 600 kPa is less than 4.83 m3/h/m2 — giving the hatches a Class 1 rating under BS EN 12207:2000

50 mm of faced polyisocyanurate insulation board is fitted to the cover and the curb. Super TUFF-R has a component U-value of 0.47 W/m2/K and accepts a variety of roof adhesives.
