Seafront beach huts are transformed with green roofs

Blyth Valley Borough Council has turned beach huts into beach gardens using bespoke Diadem green roofs from ICB, complete with Alwitra single-ply waterproofing membranes.

The 20 green roofs provide over 250 m2 of green space. They are on timber-decked huts and protected by jute netting. The foliage in these roofs has been carefully selected to thrive in the sea air.

Construction is completed with a special EVA gravel stop profile at each end of the huts to secure the entire system.
