Seafront beach huts are transformed with green roofs

ICB

Blyth Valley Borough Council has turned beach huts into beach gardens using bespoke Diadem green roofs from ICB, complete with Alwitra single-ply waterproofing membranes.

The 20 green roofs provide over 250 m2 of green space. They are on timber-decked huts and protected by jute netting. The foliage in these roofs has been carefully selected to thrive in the sea air.

Construction is completed with a special EVA gravel stop profile at each end of the huts to secure the entire system.
