Geothermal International, which specialises in the supply and installation of ground-source heat pumps, is looking to add air-to-water heat pumps and solar thermal to its portfolio with the formation of a new subsidiary, Cirrus Energi. Stewart Purchase is managing director of the new company; he was previously managing director of Viessmann. Cirrus Energi will focus on air-to-water heat pumps from 6 to 400 kW.

The company can provide a turnkey solution for home owners, housing associations, local authorities and small businesses.

Brian Davidson, CEO of Geothermal International, says, ‘We are confident that this new initiative will quickly grow into a company that will contribute greatly and be a valuable addition to the group.’

Stewart Purchase says, ‘I am extremely excited by the prospect of managing and being a part of this new company. Its focus will be to offer practical and pragmatic heating and cooling solutions based on air-to-water heat pumps. We intend to provide low-carbon solutions with low running costs and to champion the use of air-source technologies that, in my opinion, have a huge potential in every sector.

‘Our partners have a range of high-quality products, ready to deliver high-performance and high seasonal COPs, but remaining cost focused.

Cirrus Energi has an exclusive agreement with a major Italian manufacturer of air-source heat pumps.
