Samsung air conditioners heat and cool hotel rooms

Samsung, air conditioning

A popular Wiltshire hotel has selected Samsung air conditionings to provide cost-effective cooling and heating in guest rooms. South Marston Hotel & Leisure Club has installed individual 2.6 kW Samsung console systems to upgrade 40 of its 60 rooms. The inverter-controlled split systems deliver 2.6 kW of cooling and 3.5 kW of heating. EER for cooling is 4.0, and COP for heating is 3.93.

The refurbished rooms previously had individual electric heaters that were expensive to run during Winter. In Summer, guests complained that rooms were too hot.

The solution was designed and installed by Kevin Marr of Capital Environmental Systems of Swindon. The consoles were installed in place of the old heaters, and the inverter-controlled outdoor units are mounted neatly out of public view.

The consoles are just 199 mm thick and operate at 23 dB(A). They incorporate micro plasma ion technology with anti-bacterial and deodorising filters in the indoor units.

Kevin Marr says, ‘This was a cost-effective solution, and the systems were easy to install with minimum disruption. We will be monitoring energy savings as we look ahead to upgrading systems in the rest of the hotel’s rooms.’
