Mitsubishi VRF control extends to larger AHUs

Mitsubishi Electric, VRF air conditioning

Mitsubishi Electric’s latest range of City Multi VRF controllers for air-handling units include a new size 500 unit that can be connected to much larger AHUs and increase the range to cooling capacities from 11 to 56 kW. The PAC-AH-M-J range also provides more precise control of air temperature for supply and return air systems as well as adding new control options and interfaces to enable connection to the company’s extensive range of VRF equipment.

Air temperature can be maintained and controlled using centralised control, remote control or via a 0 to 10 V DC input that can be interfaced to a BEMS. The units also have a new analogue input (IT terminal) that can be connected to the Mitsubishi Electric A1M (simple Modbus connection ) interface, IO interface or MAC3971F-E interface.

This is the first time that full AHU heating and cooling has been available on R2 heat-recovery systems, making possible the supply of domestic hot water using waste heat.
