MITIE adds engineering maintenance to Channel 4 FM contract

MITIE, FM
Engineering maintenance is now part of Channel 4’s FM contract with MITIE.

MITIE has signed a new 3-year-plus-one contract to provide integrated facilities management for Channel 4. This new contract will add security and engineering maintenance to services already provided — which include front of house, mail and courier, cleaning, and waste and landscaping services. Channel 4’s decision to entrust most services to MITIE will give savings of about 10%.

The relationship with Channel 4 started in 2007, and individual contracts were added in 2008 and 2009. The new integrated FM contract will reduce management costs at Channel 4 by consolidating services and reducing the number of providers.

Debra Ward, managing director of MITIE’s client services business, said, ‘This is an outstanding win for us, and we’re delighted to be extending our relationship with Channel 4. Both companies have a true focus on people, and the total FM contract will allow us to work together in true partnership.’
