Andromeda joins Schneider Electric

Andromeda, which provides intelligent building-control solutions, has been acquired by Schneider Electric. The acquisition will see Andromeda becoming a solutions provider with Schneider Electric — operating in Europe, Middle East, Africa and South America (EMEAS)

The official acquisition was in December 2010, and the time since has seen Andromeda integrated into the Schneider Electric business model and the appointment of several new staff at Andromeda’s office in Byfleet, Surrey.

Darren Burford, formerly managing director of Andromeda and now vice-president of LifeSpace Solutions, of which Andromeda is now a division, comments, ‘The last few months have been a very exciting time for Andromeda. With new targets and a vast pool of resources set firmly in place, we are looking forward to developing innovative building-control solutions for the UK and EMEAS markets under the Schneider Electric banner.

Jean-Christophe Krieger, director of LifeSpace Solutions, said, ‘Andromeda was selected for its technical pedigree and reputation for quality, as well as its significant market presence in the UK. The company’s mission moving forward will simply be to continue completing successful building-control projects, with a particular emphasis on the airports, healthcare, commercial and education sectors in the UK and further afield.’
