Condensing unit includes energy-saving features

Airdale, air conditioning

Airedale’s BluCube high-efficiency condensing unit for air-conditioning systems offers 44% more cooling per square metre than the company’s previous-generation condensing unit and up to 30% greater efficiency when optimised with the remote electronic expansion valve (REEV). They use R410A, and there is a heat-pump variant.

There are 24 models, and they can provide heating and cooling for industry-standard air-handling units across a wide selection of ambients in split-system applications. The heat-pump variant (14 to 44 kW) is ideal for a wide range of comfort applications. The cooling-only system (13 to 40 kW) can be matched with air-conditioning units for cooling data centres.

The cooling-only option is included on the Energy Technology List.

Energy-saving features include variable capacity control, modulating head-pressure control and EC fans.

In a split system, the REEV is located remotely from the BluCube and as close as possible to the evaporator for the most efficient control of the system. The REEV can operate at low condensing pressures and manage precise superheat control. An REEV can manage up to four circuit configurations — and be retrofitted to an existing BluCube unit.
