A 5-year total-FM contract for Friends Life awarded to MITIE Group is worth £28 million.

MITIE Group has been awarded a 5-year contract to provide total facilities management for Friends Life, one of the UK’s leading providers of financial products and services. The £28 million contract covers hard and soft FM, as well as energy management — all supported by an innovative technology platform.

Following the merger of Friends Provident, part of AXA’s UK life and pension business, and BUPA’s health assurance, the new Friends Life business decided to shift to a fully integrated self-delivered outsourcing model across the UK.

Services will be delivered across the Friends Life UK estate, which includes 13 office buildings, a data centre and its London head office — housing in all over 5000 people.

Ruby McGregor-Smith, chief executive of MITIE Group, said, ‘MITIE has been providing FM services for Friends Provident at various sites across the UK for the last two years, We are delighted that Friends Life has chosen us as their partner to shift to a fully integrated outsourcing model, and we look forward to supporting them in the coming years.’
