Data-centre cooling unit fits between server racks

Airedale’s InRak cooling solution for data centres is designed for installing between industry-standard server racks to deliver cooling and conditioned air close to the servers themselves. Units can be configured as DX using R410A or chilled water. Innovative airflow management within an InRak unit delivers cooled air sideways across the front of the racks, taking the shortest direct route to distributing cool air to where it is needed.

Air is dispersed evenly along the aisles and any mixing of cold and rejected air is minimised, reducing the need for very low supply-air temperatures.

InRak units have very low resistance to airflow and can accommodate the latest EC centrifugal fans with up to 70% more efficiency at part load — enabling these units to achieve an EER of 39 and 56% annual power saving compared with a conventional precision air-conditioning unit.

Optional inverter-driven compressors can modulate down to 25% of full load.

Chilled-water versions can be integrated with an Airedale free-cooling chiller, which offers over 95% free cooling.

Other features on InRak unit include n+1 fan configuration, aisle differential-pressure control, hot-swappable control and dual power supply.
