NG Bailey appointed to major Manchester refurbishment project

NG Bailey

NG Bailey has started work on a £26 million contract to transform Manchester’s Grade 2*-listed Town Hall Extension and Central Library. The project is part of Manchester City Council’s £95 million transformation project for the Town Hall complex. NG Bailey is providing a full scope of M&E services for completion by 2014.

The work is being carried out under the guidelines of the English Heritage Trust. NG Bailey is responsible for design solutions that incorporate modern renewable technologies — including natural ventilation to open office areas and rainwater recycling.

Mike Darlington, managing director of engineering for the north of England and Scotland, says, ‘We are extremely proud to have been selected for this major Manchester project. The Town Hall Extension and the Central Library generate a phenomenal number of visitors to the City, and we are looking forward to being part of the transformation project.’
