Grundfos helps achieve project’s vision

Grundfos Pumps
This unusually shaped award-winning building in Scotland incorporates a Grundfos pump solution.

The Centre for the Scottish War Blinded, the Linburn Centre, was recently named Scottish project of the year by the Edinburgh Architectural Association for its curving geometry and energy-efficiency measures incorporated. These included a range of Grundfos pumps selected for their energy optimisation, including Magna pumps and a Hydro MPC-E.

This single-storey day centre for Scottish ex-service personnel provides a workshop, art space, training facilities, gym, therapy centre and remembrance area. Its distinctive shape is designed to operate in a flowing movement to aid navigation around the building. To help design it, the design team put bubble wrap around their eyes to simulate using the space as a user.

The building was designed by Page/Park, and the M&E solution was provided by installer McGills of Dundee. The solution was designed by consultants Harley Haddow of Edinburgh in conjunction with Grundfos.
