Giacomini helps reduce heating bills in Dundee

Giacomini, space heating, heat interface unit
Contributing to improved and cheaper heating for these four residential blocks in Dundee are Giacomini heat interchange units.

Giacomini has supplied 336 heat-interface units for the refurbishment of four multi-storey apartment blocks for Dundee City Council. The aim of the scheme for the Hill Town development was to resolve problems previously reported with the properties, including insufficient hot water on the higher floors, and provide an accurate and fair billing system reflecting the usage of individual customers.

It is estimated that tenant’s energy bills will be reduced by up to £300 a year.

There is a new central heat source distributing hot water to the heat interface units. They have an integral heat exchanger and energy meter connected to a pre-payment system.

Giacomini worked closely with McGill, a building-services contractor selected by Dundee City Council to oversee its community energy-saving programme.
