Grundfos — the science behind fire protection

Grundfos PUmps, fire pump

Following a catastrophic failure of the fire pump at its Loughborough site, Fisher Scientific called in the specialist fire team of Grundfos Pumps to help design an improved solution. The company supplies laboratory chemicals and equipment, and many of its 170 000 specialist scientific products are highly flammable.

Following consultation, Grundfos specified and supplied two FM fire pumps and a remote monitoring system that includes wireless systems. The remote monitoring system means that any situation that may arise will be captured and communicated via a range of options — including SMS, e-mail and telephone. Grundfos Service is also included in the remote monitoring link. The system offers a range of continuous monitoring surveillance options specific to this site’s requirements.
