A record 60 participants from 30 building-automation manufacturers tested the interoperability of BACnet products at the 8th European plugfest at the Siemens Technology Building in Zug, Switzerland. Development engineers from 14 countries used the 3-day event to connect prototypes and new developments.

Sealed off from marketing and sales, they gained valuable experience with the implementation of the new BACnet standard DIN EN ISO 16484-5.

Klaus Wächter, board member of BIG-EU (BACnet Interest Group Europe) said, ‘The positive reception shows that many manufacturers invest in customer satisfaction. The plugfest concept has been adapted several times since 2006. It is now held every year rather than every two years. At last year’s event, the number of participants exceeded the 50 mark for the first time.’
