Ability FCUs deliver comfort for London Docks refurbishment
The major refurbishment of Commodity Quay in London’s St Katharine Docks includes grade A office accommodation with air conditioning provided by 4-pipe fan-coil units from Ability Projects. The redevelopment includes some 13 000 m2 of offices, 1300 m2 of restaurant facilities and 2200 m2 of potential leisure space over seven floors.
The offices are served by some 370 Ability ceiling-concealed waterside fan-coil units to achieve design conditions of 24°C ±2 K in the summer and 22°C ±2 K in the winter. Noise ratings in the office areas are NR38.
All the FCUs are supplied with chilled water from air-cooled chillers and hot water from gas-fired boiler plant. All units were supplied with free-issue controls, condensate pumps and fan-status monitoring boards.
