Electric air curtains

Energy savings of up to 50% are claimed for Airbloc air curtains and controllers for retail applications. The benefits of air curtains are well established, with an open-door policy increasing trade by 40%. Energy lost through open doors can be reduced by up to 80% with an air curtain.

The next stage of saving energy is to reduce the energy consumption of the air curtain itself, which is where Airbloc’s SmartElec comes in. This controller has been developed specifically for electrically heated air curtains. It is designed to maintain constant air outlet set temperatures at the required ambient by monitoring outlet temperature and modulating to compensate for variations. A constant outlet set temperature is maintained in response to real conditions. Without such control, an electrically heated air curtain will have a constant power consumption and may be overperforming for the internal conditions.
