HVAC installer Pitkin & Ruddock has taken a bold step towards long-term sustainability and growth with its new flagship HQ in Bury St Edmunds, equipped with a cutting-edge, integrated Panasonic solution.

The Bob Ruddock Centre is a purpose-built site, housing the firm’s technical sales, engineering, senior management, service centre and a new dedicated training academy across 5,500sqft.

Designed by Rees Pryer Architects, the two-storey facility represents a commitment to employee wellbeing, sustainability and training the next generation of refrigeration and air conditioning engineers. The Panasonic units specified for the project features two Panasonic 3-pipe ECOi EC MF3 VRF units, an Aquarea air to water heat pump for domestic hot water, heat recovery systems for both floors plus a twin split AC system utilising a combination of compact and standard cassette units with nanoe X technology. The Panasonic systems were deemed the best solution to ensure the system was sustainable and energy efficient.

The building was designed during Covid-19, therefore indoor air quality was a central concern. Panasonic’s nanoe X technology, standard in the installed cassettes, uses the natural occurring hydroxyl radicals to inhibit certain pollutants, allergens and viruses in supporting healthier air indoors.
