New UV-C ceiling unit improves infection prevention for room occupancy in healthcare and commerce

Midtherm UV

Midtherm UV has recently introduced a new in
or under ceiling UV-C
unit manufactured in collaboration with an NHS Working Group to meet its operating requirements and ensure infection control in areas such as patient wards, waiting rooms, access corridors and A&E departments.

These units have been bio-validated at an NHS laboratory and fully conform to the recently published NHS Guidance & Regulations for the ‘Application of UV-C Units in Healthcare’. This two-tile unit can deliver up to 600m3/hr of airflow at a very low noise level (< 35db), and has a self-sanitising F7 operating theatre standard air filter, with a carbon impregnated option.

Providing increased ventilation/air sanitisation to occupied areas with minimal installation disruption, it requires only one service visit per year. These units are now installed and providing effective infection control
in NHS wards following successful site trials. Wall mounted, portable and in duct models are also available, as well as three or five-year Lease Purchase Agreements.
