Underfloor system provides heating for large naval restaurant at Portsmouth

Space heating for this 1300 m2 restaurant at HMS Collingwood near Portsmouth is provided by a Rehau underfloor system
Rehau underfloor heating has been installed throughout a 1300 m2 restaurant for the land-based facilities of HMS Collingwood at Portsmouth. The heating was installed by HS Tech as the obvious choice for such a large open space, which is used by Navy ratings. HS Tech had already carried out a simple installation for HMS Rayleigh in Plymouth, and its success prompted M&E contractor Lorne Stewart to also award this contract. Rehau PE-Xa universal pipework was installed using the RailFix clip-fixing method, which makes it easy to fix in circuits across large circuits. The pipework for this large area was laid in just five days. HMS Collingwood is the home of the Maritime Welfare School and the largest naval training organisation in western Europe. In a typical year, 30 000 officers and ratings pass through it.
