Recolight reaches a thousand collection points

Recolight, the specialist WEEE compliance scheme for the lamp industry, has registered its thousandth collection point. South Eastern Electrical Plc in Hainault, Essex brought the total to 1000 when it turned to Recolight after winning a new energy-saving contract with Tesco. Eddie Taylor, chief executive of Recolight, comments, ‘Recolight now represents over 60 producer members, and we estimate that we account for over 80% of the gas discharge lamps put on the UK market each year. We are very pleased to have established such a strong network of commercial collection points across the UK — over 200 of which are open, where end users can take their WEEE for collection with no further cost for treatment and disposal.’
