Gas-fired humidifiers provide efficient solution for new hospital

Energy-efficient humidification for this new treatment centre in an Ipswich is achieved using Vapac gas-fired humidifiers.
Energy-saving gas-fired humidifiers made by Vapac Humidity Control have been installed at the Garrett Andersen Centre, a new treatment centre for the Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust. Seven GF40 humidifiers installed by Dodd Group serve the operating theatre and recovery areas. Vapac units were selected because the hospital does not have steam-generating plant and because a large number of standard electrode boilers would have been required, with high electricity costs and hard water being issues. NOx emissions from these humidifiers are 36 ppm at maximum output, with a net efficiency of 95.6% at maximum capacity.
